Wellness Month at Ultimate Recruitment

Wellness Month: Looking After Yourself on the Road

At Ultimate Recruitment, we know that working in logistics can be demanding. Long shifts, early starts, time spent on the road and changing schedules can all take their toll — both physically and mentally.

That’s why, as part of our Wellness Month, we’re encouraging drivers and logistics professionals to put their wellbeing on the agenda.

Small Changes Can Make a Big Difference

Looking after yourself doesn’t have to mean completely changing your routine. A few simple habits can make a real difference to how you feel throughout your working week.

Stay hydrated
It’s easy to forget to drink enough when you’re focused on the job. Keeping water with you and drinking regularly can help with concentration, energy levels and general wellbeing.

Make time to move
Driving naturally means spending long periods sitting down. When it’s safe and practical, use breaks as an opportunity to get out of the cab, stretch your legs and get your body moving.

Fuel yourself properly
Convenience food can be tempting during a busy shift, but planning ahead can make healthier choices much easier. Preparing meals or snacks before work can help you stay energised throughout the day.

Prioritise your rest
Quality sleep is particularly important when your job involves driving. Where possible, maintaining a consistent sleep routine and giving yourself enough time to properly switch off can make a significant difference.

Mental Wellbeing Matters Too

Wellness isn’t only physical.

Working independently and spending hours on the road can sometimes feel isolating. Staying connected with friends, family and colleagues can be just as important as looking after your physical health.

If work is becoming overwhelming, talking to someone can help. Whether that’s a colleague, friend, family member or professional, you don’t have to keep everything to yourself.

More Than Just a Wellness Month

For us, supporting people shouldn’t be something that only happens during a campaign. We want the people who work with Ultimate Recruitment to feel listened to, valued and supported throughout their experience with us.

And rather than simply taking our word for it, here’s what people who have worked with Ultimate Recruitment have said in their Google reviews:

“The whole experience felt very personal and professional, and I felt supported throughout.”

“Excellent support to its workers.”

“They demonstrated a genuine interest in understanding my career.”

“They go above and beyond!”

“I left feeling confident and well supported.”

“Approachable, helpful, and quick to provide support whenever it’s needed.”

“I felt confident that I was in good hands.”

“Their dedication and commitment made the process smooth and stress-free.”

These comments are particularly important to us because they reflect what wellness in recruitment should look like in practice: being approachable, communicating clearly, understanding the individual and making sure people feel supported throughout the process.

Dedicated Mental Health Support at Ultimate Recruitment

We also recognise that sometimes people need more than everyday support.

That’s why Ultimate Recruitment has a dedicated and qualified Mental Health First Aider, Charlotte Dempsey, providing an additional point of support for those who may need someone to talk to.
