Modern Slavery

Tackling Modern Slavery: Our Commitment and Actions

At Ultimate Recruitment, we stand against all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. Modern slavery and human trafficking are huge issues within the Transport and Logistics industry.

The Transport and Logistics industry provides a lot of temporary labour. Temporary labour is more prone to modern slavery and worker exploitation. Within the Transport and Logistics industry, third-party organisations such as recruitment companies are often used to provide staffing. The use of third-party organisations increases the risk of modern slavery, and the risk of potential victims falling through the gaps during the recruitment process.

However, at Ultimate Recruitment, all of our staff go through thorough modern slavery training to understand, identify, prevent and address any instances of modern slavery. Our team is constantly being trained and educated on new policies, compliance, methods, and updates related to modern slavery. This allows the team to stay up to date with any changes within processes or new signs to look out for. Not only are our team thoroughly trained, but our systems are programmed to recognise potential signs of modern slavery. The combination of our highly trained teams and systems significantly reduces the risk of modern slavery victims falling through the gaps and going unnoticed. Through our rigorous policies, transparent practices, and continuous education, we strive to identify, prevent and address any instances of modern slavery.

In 2024, there were 2,089 cases of modern slavery reported in the UK, with around 4,839 potential victims. This number is staggering. We believe it is time for a change. We believe that if we provide training and continue educating our team on modern slavery issues, we can help look out for potential victims and potentially save lives. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to collaborate with partners, audit our processes, and support affected communities, ensuring that ethical principles guide every aspect of our business. We aim to create a world free from exploitation and abuse.

As part of our commitment to fighting against modern slavery, Ultimate Recruitment are part of different organisations and has various accreditations in support of anti-modern slavery and trafficking. We work closely with the charity Unseen UK, to which we donate every month, to help support their work of setting up safehouses for victims.
